Humboldt Research Fellowship for Yuval Dagan
Yuval Dagan has been awarded a Humboldt Research Fellowship, which will support his stay at the High-Performance Scientific Computing Lab from 1st October 2026 until 31st March 2028. Yuval has been a visiting professor with us since autumn 2025, so we are happy that he will be staying on for another 18 months.
During the fellowship he will work on a generalized computational framework for reactive, particle-laden flows with applications ranging from combustion and aerospace propulsion to atmospheric science and air quality. The project fits our lab’s research activities perfectly: high-fidelity numerical methods for multi-physics problems that couple several models at once.
Yuval is a professor in the Faculty of Aerospace Engineering at the Technion – Israel Institute of Technology. His research spans the hydrodynamic instability of multiphase flows, turbulent combustion of sprays and gaseous fuels, and hydrodynamic quantum analogues, and he brings to the lab a combination of theoretical and computational work on problems where the physics at the scale of individual particles decides the behaviour of the flow as a whole.
Congratulations on the fellowship, Yuval 👋! We are looking forward to the next 18 months.
